Transitions...

Its been almost 5 years when i left nagpur to study at pune. At that time i was actually very excited about new life. I still remember the day i left nagpur, all my friends were there at the station to see me off. and i still can't tell how i was feeling at that time. I've taken up this post to write about the transition that i saw i myself through these years. I feel that as i changed cities my own outlook changed according to the city i lived in. This i'm feeling more strongly as of now after shifting to navi mumbai 3 months back.
Most part of life i've lived in nagpur, all through my schooling. And undoubtedly thats still the favourite place for me. Nagpur is a very laid back city and life over there is simple and happy-go-lucky. When i was in nagpur i was also very different kind of person than i'm today. I was very introvert at that time and believed in living a simple life.
When i shifted to pune, everybody was saying that mayank will become a "punekar" now. I didn't know the exact meaning of punekar then. But as days passed in pune and i learnt the nuances of life over there, i also became punekar. Punekar means being "akadu" or "khadus". In other words possessing "kobra" qualities. I do feel that while living in pune i'd become somewhat like that. But pune has a sense of longingness to it that one feels when one is away from it.
Life in mumbai oh sorry correction Navi Mumbai is very different. I've become more outspoken, flamboyant and daring. Yeah i agree sometimes my on-your-face attitude do drag me into trouble, but i'm able to make my room out of it. This new mayank is more in sync with the city i live in right now. Yes mumbai is like that na- very fast, daring, etc.

But some things have remained unchanged. I've made some very nice friends in all the cities. Though painfully i've lost some very good friends also. And believe me all my friends give me immense strength to progress in my life. (yeah that includes the lost ones also)

As of now thats my theory of life. I know that there might be many factors affecting me all through the years, but i still believe that the city you live in does make some impact on your outlook towards life. I plan to live in many cities of the world and want to see if this theory holds true for all of them.

First loves...

First loves... Thats exactly what they are. Those are the ones that intriduced you to everything, made you love them, loved you back and also broke your heart. But no matter how hurt you are, you'll always love them. Always... They will stay with you forever. and not only will you notice it, but deep down you will compare every other girl to her, and none of them will live up. Because she was your first love. Then after months of letting go when you finally think you are okay with letting her go, she'll call... or you'll hear "your" song... or you'll visit a place that was important to you... or see a movie.. or something that reminds you of how much she meant you and how much you really loved her and realize you're not completely over her and never will be...

(Inspired from a movie that i recently saw)
